Cattleya rex is native to Northern Peru and Western Bolivia. It is found growing high up on tree branches (where it is exposed to bright light and breezes) in wet montane forests and low montane seasonally dry forests in the regions of San Martin and Puno in Peru and the department of La Paz in Bolivia at elevations of 800-2500 meters above sea level. The first picture is a sample specimen and the second is the blooming size division for sale mounted.
